Life Is Just A Dream™

So can it be fun going around as a near unstoppable killing…… whatever it is you are?

Well yes it is but it’s not to say it doesn’t have its flaws, the game can get VERY difficult (that even on easy) but then if it was too easy the game would another pointless running around the city and killing things!

But you are Alex mercer and you only know that as you wake up in a morgue being called that. an after a somewhat this is how things work you are let loose on NY a city that doesn’t look that good, but hey you can’t move/kill/glide etc as fast as Alex can and expect to have such a pretty city especially when its infected!

But then half the time you won’t be seeing in the sight (like above) as the whole army is after you, and they are using tanks, Choppers an else they can to get/detect you.

When you doing this and running up walls you can sort of see why the city isn’t the best looking one you’ve ever seen!

There is nothing like slamming into the ground form god knows how many feet; it really makes you feel like a badass.

And then strolling away like yeah anyone want to say something?

Oh what you did…. so you make an example out of him/her!

Then the army see you an decides its him (well if I saw someone punched at least 30ft I’d be like WTF) an they unleash everything they have on you including strike teams, that have these UAV’s that can detect you even if you shape shift into the last person you consumed….. And that is where you get your health from by consuming people be it civilians, army or the infected!

Like these people hear in these pictures, now the army is all over you what are you to do? KILL everyone or as many as you can. An if you happen to destroy things along the way well that’s a bonus!

The game is gory as they come, but then you won’t care when you find out what you’re capable of, Like elbow dropping a tank!

So as your trying to kill the army, sometimes it can get very hectic and this is where you can get even more annoyed at the game as the controls are not the best an take some getting used to!

But I did like the grab button as once you have the whip ability; you can pull yourself up to a chopper no problem taking you right out of the chaos. Unless you get rocketed out the sky!

And depending where you are on the chopper you have to either jump from the tail to the front unless you end up on the side of the cockpit, either way you do have to do a kind of quick time/button mash event!

The whole city is in chaos and Alex has just destroyed 5 choppers and 6 tanks, as well as 30 army personnel……. but its ok this scientist survived where saved yay!

But you can’t stay hidden for long as that’s not what prototype is about; no it’s about finding out who you are and killing lots of people along the way…..

…….. Even if that does include surfing on people (I could so sing a certain song right now)

But even for Alex things can get too much and you need to retreat.

Or not and steal a chopper again, starting the whole “It’s him” process! Not that I would complain but some might find it a bit tedious.

But even with all that chaos you can put an end to thing quite quick if you want….

….. With a Devastator an there is like 4 to choose from so you’re not short of any moves to help you out. And that one of the other things with prototype there are too many moves for you (once you buy them all) and some won’t even get used unless you want to try them all out… an I can’t say I didn’t try the ones I upgraded.

You can just sit and watch the city tear itself apart hey you can even help the army fight the infected. There is allot more to prototype but I think you need to discover that for yourself, but I can see allot of people ignoring what is there!

At the end of it I did enjoy the 8+hrs I got out of the Story yes I will say that some of the boss battles where like this isn’t fun but I felt it wasn’t trying to be anything special, it was here you go have fun and I did Even with the problems the game had.

PRO’S:

• Amazing Moves, Upgrades
• Bloody Gory
• Lots of mini games to do
• Some good animation
• You can surf on people lol

CON’S:

• Some Moves are pointless
• City is not the best looking
• Boss battles can be a pain
• Controls are a bit iffy

This is not a review more a personal opinion/thoughts on the game.
